Orton, defense come through late for Broncos

Who needs Jay Cutler? Certainly not the 6-0 Denver Broncos, who are using a big-play defense and late-game heroics by Kyle Orton in a fast start. Denver heads into its bye week on a high note after a 34-23 win over division-rival San Diego as the Broncos slowly but surely make room for more fans on their bandwagon.

Denver is starting to make believers of fantasy owners as well with the sudden revival of its passing game. Orton finished with 229 yards passing and two touchdowns versus San Diego. One of the scoring passes went to tight end Tony Scheffler, who led the Broncos with 101 yards receiving. The other went to Brandon Stokley.

Both Orton and Scheffler appear to have solid fantasy value going forward, so consider your depth to be in good shape if you have either one of them on your fantasy bench.
